By installing or using CommerceGov, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not install or use the application.
Service Description
CommerceGov provides a governance workflow that allows agencies to review, approve, and apply product content updates to Shopify stores before changes are written to production.
CommerceGov is an agency-managed governance platform for AI-assisted Shopify product mutations. The service provides workflow controls for reviewing, approving, and applying product content changes to Shopify stores.
CommerceGov operates as a governance control plane for product content changes. The application does not autonomously modify store content; all mutations require explicit human approval within the workflow.
Agency Responsibility
Access to CommerceGov is managed by the merchant's agency. Merchants typically do not interact with the system directly.
The agency is responsible for:
- managing access to the application
- ensuring it has authorization to manage connected Shopify stores
- ensuring that approved product changes comply with merchant expectations and Shopify policies
By using CommerceGov, the agency represents that it has the authority to operate the connected Shopify stores.
Usage
CommerceGov processes product metadata and content retrieved through the Shopify Admin API in order to provide governance workflows and product optimization suggestions.
All product mutations executed through CommerceGov require explicit human approval before being applied to the Shopify store.
AI-generated suggestions are provided as informational recommendations only. Users remain responsible for reviewing and approving all content changes before they are applied to a Shopify store.
Users agree not to use the service for unlawful activities or in violation of Shopify's terms of service.
Service Availability
CommerceGov may modify, update, or discontinue parts of the service at any time in order to improve reliability, security, or functionality.
While reasonable efforts are made to maintain availability, the service is provided on an "as is" basis without guarantees of uninterrupted operation.
Limitation of Liability
CommerceGov is provided as a governance and workflow tool. The operators of the service are not responsible for business outcomes resulting from product content changes approved and applied by users of the application.
Termination
CommerceGov access may be terminated if the application is uninstalled from the Shopify store or if the service is discontinued.
Upon uninstall, shop-specific data is deleted according to the Privacy Policy.
Data Handling
CommerceGov processes shop product data only as necessary to operate the governance workflow described in this service.
